When
hiring a Contractor we suggest that you ensure the Company is
qualified to do the work.
Make sure the Contractor:
Has a Municipal business and/or contractor license (where
required)
Has coverage with the
Workplace Safety and Insurance Board
(WSIB)
Has adequate liability insurance
Has a current "Certificate of Qualification"
(electrician's license) that is applicable for the type of work
you are having done (there are different licenses
for various types of work)
Is prepared to take out an
"application for inspection"
and will provide you with a copy of the "Certificate of
Inspection" from the Electrical Safety Authority.

Hiring a Contractor who is an "ACP"
Contractor (authorized contractor program)
with the
Electrical Safety Authority adds value to the
contractor and in turn, to the quality of workmanship and
safety.
