Hiring a Contractor

When hiring a Contractor we suggest that you ensure the Company is qualified to do the work.

Make sure the Contractor:

  • Has a Municipal business and/or contractor license (where required)
  • Has coverage with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board   (WSIB)
  • Has adequate liability insurance
  • Has a current "Certificate of Qualification" (electrician's license) that is applicable for the type of work you are having done (there are different licenses for various types of work)
  • Is prepared to take out an "application for inspection" and will provide you with a copy of the "Certificate of Inspection" from the Electrical Safety Authority.
  • Is prepared to provide you references
  • Hiring a Contractor who is an "ACP" Contractor (authorized contractor program) with the Electrical Safety Authority adds value to the contractor and in turn, to the quality of workmanship and safety.

Doing it the Best Way since 1956.
